It's that time of year when you're going on vacation to a beautiful resort and meeting that amazing dance instructor who shows you how to live. Oh wait.. you're not Baby, and you just might be in the corner. None of that matters when you've got a wardrobe reminiscent of Dirty Dancing and all of those vintage summer beach movies!
Details and more after the jump!
I stuck with a cool color palette and threw in texture and prints! Proportion is key with an outfit like this. My skirt is relatively short (short on me is generally longer than on others), so instead of a skin-tight bodycon, I chose a flippy a-line in a super saturated pattern. It's also got an extra wide waistband with a ton of smocking which always makes something feel a little more summery. I threw my trusty chambray (because nothing says summer like that sunfaded light wash) on and knotted it over a bralette! Again, with proportions - I'm showing a little skin so I used my chambray that's a little baggier.
Chambray: Ralph Lauren // Bralette: Victoria's Secret // Skirt: American Eagle (old) // Flats: Aldo (old, similar here) |
DIY silk scarf - tie dye with indigo // Hair tie: Aerie |
Bracelets: Eden Arts & gifts // Necklace (see below): Aerie (old) |
I kept my jewelry eclectic and bold with a turquoise bracelet and a short fringe necklace. Embrace fun and quirky details that make your jewelry and outfit just a little bit left of center.
and now you're ready to meringue all through summer!
This is such a a cute look! I adore that skirt!
