Sleigh Ride

The snowstorm last week hit Cape Cod especially hard. It was the first time I had seen the Cape looking like a snowglobe. With snow and ice everywhere that it usually isn't, it was particularly beautiful and unusual. If you aren't familiar with the Cape Cod Bay, it isn't like other beaches. You think beach and you picture big waves, or at least water, right? During low tide on the Bay, the water disappears and you can walk a mile out to sea with nothing but occasionally wet ankles! It's a phenomenon that I never tire of because it lets me explore the ocean. That being said, when this storm hit, the exact opposite happened. The Bay was chock full of water and huge waves. That combined with the frigid temperatures made for a beautifully frozen ocean!

  1. Love this post! I'm from York Beach so seeing the pictures of the snow on the beach reminds me of home :)
