There was some great fashion at the BAFTAs! Having spent a semester in London, I truly appreciate British style and I don't think that appeal quite came across at this red carpet (except for Lily Allen and Laura Carmichael, maybe), but even without genuine London style, there were some serious style stars who turned out for this event! Angelina Jolie's bold choice of tuxedo was killer, as she proves again that anything the boys can do, she can do better. I say this even though I'm not the biggest fan of her style or her work in general, because it really was so flawless. Lupita Nyong'o can do absolutely no wrong. I love that she has been trying different colors, materials, designers and silhouettes. She never does the same thing, but she always looks like herself. Cate Blanchett is similar and looked exquisite per usual. Maggie Gyllenhaal is just doing her thing and I actually love it. My favorite of the night, however, came in the form of the aforementioned Laura Carmichael who just looked so breezily cool in a short, printed, embellished dress, easy hairdo, and perfect shoes. Only a couple more weeks until the Oscars and I, for one, can't wait to see what the stars do there.
