Travel in Style

I will be heading off to London soon to study for the semester! In celebration (and a fit of anxiety) I've rounded up some of my favorite stars and their genius airport style in hopes that I can look as chic as they manage to!

Emma Stone's everyday style is amazingly relaxed, but polished and she translates this effortlessly to her airport style. Her Canadian tuxedo is comfortable but refined in a way that let's her breathe or be warm enough on the plane and hop right off and continue with her day. A hat, pop of red, and flats are simple. You won't look overdone and you won't be fumbling with anything going through security. This timeless style will allow you to hit the ground running. There are so many options even within an outfit like this now - Madewell has about a million different amazing chambrays. They have different washes, silhouettes, and even prints that will make this outfit pop even more and put a personal stamp on it! My latest obsession, d'Orsay flats, are another way to keep this style especially current and nothing says style like an Indiana Jones style fedora.

Emma Watson is chic and polished on the street, red carpet, and even in the airport! Putting her time spent as a Burberry spokesmodel to good use, she's using a classic, but still modern trench coat and a monochromatic color palette to breeze through a day of travel looking every bit the movie star she is. An amazing trench adds style to every outfit, so you have freedom for a cozy sweater underneath. Perfectly tailored straight jeans and black flats with a little something extra keep your outfit clean but a little sassy too.

Now for all out glamour and cool, look no further than Diane Kruger. She has bold style no matter what, including when traveling! Who else would wear such an amazing blazer, striped jeans, and Louboutin's on a plane? She refuses to sacrifice comfort for style. A showstopping blazer sets the stage for the rest of the outfit, where details are key. A black tee with some texture adds subtle interest under the blazer and striped jeans add downtown cool and more visual interest. Since Louboutin illusions are in just about nobody's budget, some chic, pointy white pumps will do just fine. A white leather bag to carry all of your essential and a white fedora help tie everything else together in this fabulous travel outfit.

Last, but not least - here's my take on travel style. I know that I'll either be freezing or sweating, so I'll layer a cotton chambray and a cozy sweater over a tank top that will breathe. However, instead of just doing all of this with a hoodie, these will give you extra style points! Dark wash jeans are a must. These from Loft breathe and - added bonus, are nice and stretchy. They're definitely my favorite pair because I feel like I can wear them for hours without going crazy. The Frye boots are a little multipurpose. Not only are they comfortable and badass, they're the heaviest shoes I generally travel with, so on my feet they go! Can't have them weighing down my luggage. I keep the rest of the outfit classic with a beautiful leather bag and Ray-Ban's.
